WWE HOFer Wanted To Name JTG ‘The Neighborhoodie’

Now a long-time veteran of the squared circle that is still giving it a go on the independent scene, former WWE star JTG has turn into known primarily for 2 things; his Cryme Tyme tag team with the later Shad Gaspard, and his near ten yr tenure with WWE that saw him survive multiple talent cuts, despite WWE’s limited use of him. And yet, if not for just a few changes upon him being called as much as the major roster, it’s possible JTG could’ve been known for having a totally different name than the one he got.

In an appearance on “Rewind Recap Relive,” JTG talked in regards to the origins of the JTG name when he was first coming up as a developmental wrestler in OVW. While he was able to go together with the JTG name from the beginning, a certain WWE Hall of Famer got here up with one other name for him, which JTG initially went with before getting called as much as the massive dance.

“As I got called up, I began working with Paul Heyman,” JTG said. “He desired to call me ‘The Neighborhoodie.’ And on the time, if Paul Heyman gives you a reputation, you find it irresistible. You do not say nothing. So I used to be The Neighborhoodie for some time. And once I got signed to WWE, that is once I officially modified it to JTG.

“I initially did not have any…no acronym to it, just I used to be just sticking to JTG, because that is what I used to be used to, and that is what I used to be using in OVW. So JTG. After which everyone kept asking me in WWE, fans, I needed to provide you with something. So I said [it means] Just Too Good. You choose it. And once I began my solo profession, that is once I needed to evolve to a god.”
