The Buffalo Sabres could use a depth defenseman and one other forward

Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic: The Buffalo Sabres are going to wish to amass one other defenseman before the trade deadline, one which can provide reliable minutes on the third pairing.

The Sabres do have Conor Timmins getting back from injury, as he’ll resume skating between now and once they get back to motion after the break, but he’s coming off a broken leg. They still must add depth to the blue line.

Adding a top-nine forward must also be a goal for the Sabres. The Sabres should get Josh Norris and Zach Benson back after the break, but there continues to be a number of hockey to play.
