The most important character, Mr. K, is an extraordinary office clerk and an all-around nice guy. But fate takes a darkly comic turn: a ridiculous accident sends him to not heaven, but straight to the depths of hell. There, he finds himself on the gates of the Inferno Hotel — a bizarre place where the circles of hell have was floors, each with its own rules and atmosphere. Determined to set things right, Mr. K seeks an audience with the Boss to finally clear up this cosmic mistake. But chaos has erupted within the hotel: the floors are sealed off, and he must overcome every trial to succeed in his goal.
