Prince Harry Once Tried To Speak To Prince William Through An ‘Intermediary’

Tensions between Prince Harry and Prince William remain unresolved years after the Duke of Sussex’s decision to step down as a senior royal.

Despite an alleged attempt by Harry to reconnect through an “intermediary,” the trouble reportedly went unanswered, leaving their relationship at a standstill and casting doubt on the prospects for reconciliation without change on either side.

Latest books and interviews proceed to supply insight into their fallout, from Prince William’s reported hurt over Prince Harry’s royal exit to disputes surrounding claims made within the duke’s “Spare” memoir.

A brand new report has revealed that Harry made an attempt to determine communication together with his estranged brother, William, through a mutual acquaintance.

Royal commentator Omid Scobie revealed during a chat with Us Weekly that, while working on his 2023 book “Endgame,” he learned that the duke had quietly tried to reconnect.

Based on Scobie, Harry “had reached out to an intermediary, sort of mutual friend between himself and his brother, hoping that might allow them to have some sort of conversation together, possibly with someone present, or through whatever channel.”

Nonetheless, Harry’s request apparently went unanswered, with Scobie noting that the duke’s effort failed to achieve traction, leaving the brothers’ relationship at a standstill.

Royal commentator, Scobie, also noted that meaningful reconciliation seems unlikely between Harry and William, unless either side are willing to shift their positions.

“It wasn’t received in any way in any respect,” the royal expert said, explaining, “and so from what I see now from the surface, it looks like that stone wall remains to be up.”

“Unless the attitudes change on either side, we’re never going to search out any solution to resolution,” Scobie added.

The brothers’ strained dynamic dates back to 2020, when Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped away from their senior royal duties and relocated to the US. The move marked a significant turning point throughout the royal family and widened the rift between the siblings.

In his book “William and Catherine: The Monarchy’s Latest Era: The Inside Story,” journalist Russell Myers revealed that William was “intensely saddened” by Harry’s departure.

As reported by The Mirror, Myers shared that the long run king had already sensed growing distance between him and his younger sibling for years, but the choice to go away confirmed his belief that their bond might never fully get well.

The creator highlighted how the brothers’ “fond memories,” especially those of them helping one another address the lack of their mother, Princess Diana, and navigating childhood in the general public eye, were now “tarnished by the division at the center of the family.”

Myers also claimed that William’s wife, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, accepted Harry’s exit as “inevitable” and “had less interest than her husband in trying to influence Harry to remain in his current role.”

Harry addressed the family tensions publicly during a May 2025 interview with the BBC, acknowledging longstanding disagreements but saying he has chosen forgiveness.

More recently, Harry met together with his father, King Charles III, during a September visit to London. The meeting at Clarence House reportedly lasted about an hour. William, nonetheless, was not a part of that reunion.

Myers’ recent book on William and Kate Middleton also challenges one in every of Harry’s most explosive allegations from his 2023 memoir “Spare.”
