As Kohrra 2 continues to receive praise, debutant actor Davinder Gill has been earning appreciation for his portrayal of Constable Aujla. A major a part of his journey on the show has been sharing the screen with acclaimed actor Barun Sobti. In an Exclusive Interview with Bollywood Bubble talked concerning the bond and camaraderie the duo shared each on-screen and off-screen.
Davinder Gill On Bond With Barun Sobti In Kohhra 2
Speaking about their camaraderie, Davinder shares that the majority of his scenes in Kohrra 2 are with Barun. “I first met Barun sir, in the course of the script reading. After the reading session of a couple of hours, he casually called out to me, saying, ‘Oye Aujle!’ and from there, it just picked up. That was the start of Garundi and Aujla’s equation within the show.”
Within the series, Barun plays ASI, while Davinder’s Aujla is a constable, junior in rank but friendly and comfy within the equation. “There’s a natural power dynamic because he’s the inspector and I’m the constable. But there’s also warmth and ease between them. And that dynamic worked beautifully off-screen too,” Davinder says.

Despite Barun being a senior and established actor, the environment on set was relaxed and collaborative. “We chilled loads between takes and spoke extensively about Punjab since I’m from there, and we were shooting on home ground. I actually look as much as him. I learned a lot just by observing him- from understanding camera angles to how you can face the lens and hold a moment,” Davinder added.
One of the crucial talked-about sequences from the show – a chase scene that has been going viral became a memorable turning point of their equation. “Running is my territory; I’m a sportsman. That’s where the dynamic shifted for a bit,” Davinder smiles. “Often, before intense scenes, he would tell me, ‘Calm down reh.’ But before the running sequence, I used to be the one checking on him ‘Sir, aap theek ho na?. The fun we had behind the scenes may be very just like how Aujla interacts with him within the series. That comfort and teasing energy got here naturally.”
Before entering into the digital space, Davinder made his feature film debut as Jarnail Singh in Maidaan with Ajay Devgn.
