Paddy Pimblett believes that he was owed a degree deduction for fouls that may have given him a draw against Justin Gaethje.
Fan favorite Pimblett took his first loss since signing with the game’s biggest promotion last month when he was defeated by perennial contender Gaethje at UFC 324. All three judges agreed that he lost the bout, with two scoring it as wide as 49-46.
Nonetheless, the Brit believes that it was a better fight than that, and will have even been a draw if the foundations had been accurately followed. He was poked in the attention on multiple occasions, and says it was enough to warrant a degree deduction which might have made it a draw on his scorecard.

Paddy Pimblett believes Justin Gaethje fight must have been a draw
So far as Paddy Pimblett is anxious, the scorecard wherein he won rounds three and five of his fight with Justin Gaethje is the proper one. That is after his first viewing of the bout on an enormous television at home after initially only watching on his phone.
The Brit shared a video of his reactions to the bout on YouTube this Sunday, wherein he claimed: “If he got a degree took off like he must have, that’s a draw… I don’t need to sound bitter, you’ll be able to’t cry over spilt milk.”
He even joked that he now ‘knows how Jared Gordon felt’, after their December 2022 fight which many feel the American did enough to win. Pimblett has at all times insisted that the scorecards for that bout were fair, but his stance on the event has softened in recent times.
“I knew the scorecards weren’t going to be in our favor, that’s why I did the little ‘I don’t know’ [gesture] to my mum,” he explained. “I half knew I’d lost but you’ll be able to see my eyes, shiny red there. I heard 49-46 and I knew, all of them must have been 48-47.”
Paddy Pimblett shows respect to Justin Gaethje and his team
Despite his gripes with the scorecard, Pimblett did give props to not only Gaethje but his family and his team. The previous BMF champion was joined within the cage after the very fact by his family, in addition to manager Ali Abdelaziz and legendary ex-welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
“Usman got here over and spoke to me to inform me what I’d been doing to remain within the fight and all that,” Pimblett added. “Ali got here over and spoke to me, everyone he was with were dead nice and good sports.
“I feel Usman was saying to me that I’ll come back higher from this and all that, and I do know for a fact I’ll. Someone like Usman saying that if you’ve just fought a legend like Justin Gaethje and Usman’s a legend in his own right? He’s one among the best welterweights of all time.
“So having him say something like that to you, you already know you’re on the suitable path. I do know I’m going to be a world champion anyway, it’s just going to be somewhat bit later than expected.”
