Urijah Faber can’t wait for Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano
Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano has faced some criticism from individuals who fear the fight is going on 15 years too late.
Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland ripped the matchup ahead of his TKO win over Anthony Hernandez at UFC Houston on Saturday night.
Urijah Faber politely disagreed with Strickland’s take during a recent interview with Bloody Elbow.
The UFC Hall of Famer wants everyone to know Carano was a ‘bad chick’ before quitting MMA and becoming a successful actress.
“I don’t agree with Sean Strickland, who’s not enthusiastic about that match,” Faber said.
“To begin with, Gina Carano didn’t suck. She’s a nasty chick.
“Her dad is a friend of mine. He was knowledgeable football player for a number of years, and a tremendous athlete himself. And she or he was a knockout artist; she was tough.
“I believe her and Rousey goes to be an excellent match. I’m excited for it.
“I do wish it was on a UFC card. Hopefully, they will get compensated.
“The UFC, we are usually not frightened in regards to the UFC. They’re in place.”
What did Sean Strickland say?
Sean Strickland blasted Rousey vs. Carano as ‘two middle-aged women fighting’ last week.
“It’s f—ing r——-,” he said when asked in regards to the Netflix super fight.
“Ronda Rousey’s gonna steamroll her. Ronda was an Olympian that was a multi-time world champion.
“Gina Carano was pretty in a time when women’s MMA sucked. It’s still not superb, but when Gina Carano was fighting, it was significantly worse.
“We’re just gonna watch two middle-aged women, f—ing going through menopause, fight one another.
“I even have little interest in that. Who gives a f—?”
