Some defenseman that the San Jose Sharks could possibly be

Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now: The San Jose Sharks sit five points out of the wild card spot, and so they could possibly be seeking to add a defenseman. Some potential options for the Sharks.

Dougie Hamilton – Recent Jersey Devils – Two years left at $9 million and a 10-team trade list. The Sharks aren’t on his trade list. They were interested last offseason.

Justin Faulk – St. Louis Blues – A 12 months left at $6.5 millin and a 15-team no-trade list. May cost a first-round pick, perhaps a high pick and a prospect. Faulk would likely cost greater than Hamilton to accumulate, so Hamilton could have more appeal to the Sharks.

Mason Lohrei – Boston Bruins – The 25-year-old has one other 12 months left and might have a change of scenery. Has been healthy scratched.

Zach Whitecloud – Calgary Flames – Getting so much more ice time in Calgary. Two years left on his contract at $2.75 million. Two scouts said it could cost a second-round pick and a prospect.

Logan Stanley – Winnipeg Jets – A 6-foot-7, left-shot pending UFA defenseman. Not playing top-four minutes in Winnipeg.
