Romanian Court Refuses To Dismiss Jail Sentence

Why Does Wiz Khalifa Have A Drug Charge In Romania?

Wiz Khalifa, whose real name is Cameron Jibril Thomaz, filed an appeal last month after being sentenced in December. Romanian police stopped the rapper in July 2024 after he allegedly smoked weed on stage on the ‘Beach, Please! Festival’ in Constanta County. Prosecutors said the rapper had greater than 18 grams of cannabis on him and that he consumed some on stage. In line with AP, the court convicted Khalifa of “possession of dangerous drugs, without right, for private consumption.”

Rapper’s Appeal Denied In Recent Update

The appeals court on Thursday rejected Khalifa’s appeal to annul the sentence, labeling it inadmissible. Also, it ruled that a request to suspend the nine-month sentence was unfounded.
