Pokemon FireRed And LeafGreen On Switch Include The Aurora And Mystic Tickets

I actually have mixed feelings about how Pokemon handled certain legendaries (mostly mythicals, really) back within the day. You see, I truthfully abhor the way it’s done now. You simply… enter limited-time promotional codes that sometimes plop Pokemon into your Pokedex with no further ado. But in earlier generations, you bought to go to unique places! Often small ones, but they were incorporated into the world. It felt like a brand new piece of, well, worldbuilding.

Then again… You needed to go places in the true world to get these tickets and such. And in case you didn’t, you were out of luck. Without end. There’s this one event in HeartGold and SoulSilver? Involving Giovanni? It looks like it must have at all times been there, dang it. But for the overwhelming majority of players, it never was.

Thank Goodness For The Recent FRLG

All of that is to say, gosh, I sure am glad that Game Freak didn’t make an enormous mistake with the Nintendo Switch versions of Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen. As fans have found—and VGC previously reported—each the Mystic Ticket and Aurora Ticket, which were originally linked to real-world and very limited events, are actually yours by default.

Each items will be present in your inventory once you have defeated the Elite 4 and the Champion and entered the Hall of Fame. Which is to say, once you have beaten the fundamental storyline. They principally popped in there for the fortunate few who successfully acquired them a long time previously, so this gorgeous much tracks. And, joy of joys, that is old-school Pokemon, so that you do indeed go places for Ho-oh, Lugia, and Deoxys.

As a reminder, Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen also include the Sevii Islands. (Technically, the Mystic and Aurora Tickets bring you to 2 particular islands within the chain; the remainder, nonetheless, were at all times visitable with or without special events.) It is a small continuation of the fundamental story, too, and does a pleasant job linking things up with Gen 2’s Team Rocket parts. I sorely missed this in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Let’s Go Eevee. Go have a good time!
