Following his win at RAF06, Aljamain Sterling launched a frustration-fuelled rant on the UFC for his or her dealings of the featherweight division.
This past Saturday, the previous UFC bantamweight champion returned to competition for the primary time since last August to compete in RAF06.
‘Funkmaster’ went on to attain a 3rd round tech fall win over Benson Henderson, once more showcasing his dominance.
And following his impressive win, Aljamain Sterling went on an frustration-fuelled rant targeted on the UFC for his or her dealings of the featherweight division.
Sterling demands UFC featherweight title shot in rant in regards to the division
Since making his move as much as 145lbs, Sterling has competed thrice, beating each Brian Ortega and Calvin Kattar, but losing to Movsar Evloev.
And since his win over ‘T-City’, the 36-year-old has been calling for several different fights, but is seemingly no closer to having one booked.
With that, following his win on the wrestling mats on Saturday, the previous champion launched a rant targeted on the UFC, calling for a featherweight title shot.
“Nothing (within the works) as of yet, I saw that announcement, the battle of the Bellasores,” Sterling told MMAFighting with reference to the recently announced fight between Aaron Pico and Patricio ‘Pitbull’.
“I’ve been doing this for a very long time, been with the corporate since 2014, I’ve been calling my shot, defended my belt essentially the most within the bantamweight division, tied with a few other greats.
“Give me my f—— shot, I deserve a shot on the title, OG vs OG, I’m smarter than all of those dumb motherf—— on the market… Diego Lopes gets a f—— rematch and he goes on the market and fights worse.
“Yeah, I don’t have knockout power, that’s never been my game, I win with (my head), I’m smarter than numerous these guys. I’m an OG of the sport, give me my f—— title shot, I’ll placed on an excellent show… I’ve earned this.”
Sterling willing to fight trio of featherweights
The 36-year-old has been calling to be the backup for the UFC London important event between Lerone Murphy and Movsar Evloev.
Despite that, ‘Funkmaster’ has claimed that he’s hearing rumors that Jean Silva will take that role.
With that, Sterling has stated that he can be willing to fight either Silva, Yair Rodriguez or Youssef Zalal within the meantime, to really cement a title shot.
