NHL Rumors: Plenty of Change Heading Vancouver’s Way

Sportsnet: Elliotte Friedman on 32 Thoughts: The Podcast – NHL Trade Deadline: A Buyers’ Market episode on the Vancouver Canucks. Tyler Myers may not need to go to Detroit, but within the offseason he loses some trade protection. The rumor of Jake DeBrusk could ask for a trade was shot down, but … The Canucks are mainly willing to listen on anyone who isn’t young, or Filip Hronek.

“Vancouver. Dom’s Canucks. You understand Jim Rutherford he did a podcast, the John Shannon, Darren Millard podcast. You understand, the Canucks, they’ll listen on absolutely anything straight away, other than their young players and Filip Hronek.

The way in which this 12 months has gone, they’re, they’ve recognized, I believe there’s loads of disappointment contained in the organization about where they’ve gone in two years. And I believe if they may move people out of the organization, more of them, they might. And you understand, I believe it’s going to be hard. A few of those contracts make it difficult.

NHL Rumors: Rasmus Ristolainen, Steven Stamkos, and Nick Foligno

The Myers thing is interesting to me, because I don’t think, when initially, when it got out, Myers discovered Tuesday morning that Detroit had a suggestion for him. That Vancouver wanted to think about. Wednesday night when he set out the sport, I had a pair people tell me that it didn’t seem like he was going to simply accept it. I don’t know where that stands as of the time we recorded this, but I do think what it does is it opens up other possibilities for Myers. Other teams might come into it. We’ll see form of what happens there.

But I believe, the thing that Myers has to think about, and I believe this does make him consider it’s, his full protection ends July 1st. And when this happens, you mainly have a alternative. You’ll be able to make the decision when you will have the ability, or you’ll be able to risk losing the ability.

And you understand, I believe at this cut-off date, Myers has to understand that the Canucks are usually not afraid to maneuver away from him. So I believe they’re all working together. And I believe the Canucks understand that he won’t need to rush. I understand why he doesn’t need to go too far in the course of the season for his family situation.

But by some means, it does seem like whether it’s now or later, Myers knows Vancouver is ready to maneuver on. So I believe the trouble now could be to attempt to put him right into a situation he’s comfortable with.

There was a rumor that Jake DeBrusk could ask for a trade. That was denied to me. But, you understand, I still think that if something happens that he likes, he wouldn’t stand in the best way of it.

Pettersson, considered one of the things, with all of the noise that’s come out of there and all of the news that’s come out of there this week, considered one of the things I desired to ask is that if there was anything that was occurring. Famous last words, however it seems quiet around him, right there.

I don’t think the Canucks are desperate to retain. It’s a protracted time to retain for. And I believe that’s, I believe some teams have tried to ask them in the event that they would consider it. I don’t think it’s something they’re very considering doing.

I’ve form of wondered about Ottawa and Vancouver, if there’s a match there. Just over the 12 months, there’s people said, people have form of hinted there is perhaps something there. I just haven’t been in a position to determine what it could possibly be.

NHL Rumors: Vancouver Canucks, and the Montreal Canadiens

Bukauskas: “Hmm, possibly someone left over from the Travis Green era in Vancouver.

Friedman: “That’s what you all, you mostly wonder about, right? Yeah, and you understand, Ottawa, I believe, is seeking to add.  And I just think the Canucks have mainly let people know, other than Hronek and our children, we’re on the market.”
