Tom Aspinall’s three-word statement may very well be an indication that he’s preparing to make his UFC return

The UFC heavyweight champion’s journey back to the Octagon could have received a lift.

Tom Aspinall has been out of motion ever since he was poked in each eyes by Ciryl Gane of their undisputed title fight in Abu Dhabi last October.

Aspinall’s defense led to a no-contest after the egregious fouls, but having the chance to win at UFC 321 was the least of the Englishman’s concerns.

Serious damage left Aspinall undergoing double eye surgery in February and threw his fighting future up within the air. Nevertheless, fans think the champ is now hinting at a positive update to his comeback hopes.

Having needed a surgical operation to repair the many issues brought on by Gane’s controversial fouling five months ago, Aspinall admitted a UFC return was the final thing on his mind.

Beyond worries about his future within the Octagon, the heavyweight king has been scuffling with on a regular basis tasks attributable to the injuries.

But while that resulted in lots of writing off Aspinall’s probabilities of a UFC comeback anytime soon, a recent Instagram post could also be an indication that recovery goes well for the Manchester native.

Aspinall recently uploaded a picture of himself boarding a non-public jet on Instagram and wrote, “Back to business,” within the caption.

The third numbered event of the Paramount era takes place on Saturday, with UFC 326 happening on the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Some have theorized that the heavyweight champ is heading to satisfy with UFC officials to debate his return to motion down the road.

Fans took that post as an indication that Aspinall is finally approaching a UFC comeback, and lots of flocked to the comments with excitement about his return.

Aspinall’s post comes just days on from the announcement that Alex Pereira has dropped his light heavyweight title ahead of a move up.

Rumors have surrounded a possible super-fight with Jon Jones on the White House or an interim heavyweight title fight against Gane amid Aspinall’s absence.
