Arsenal legend Ray Parlour believes Gabriel Jesus will select to go away the club at the tip of the season.
The Gunners spent over £250million in last summer’s transfer window with Mikel Arteta assembling perhaps the strongest squad in Europe to finish their long wait for silverware.
While competing on 4 fronts have ensured loads of opportunities across the squad, some have struggled for minutes, chiefly academy duo Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri.
Reports this week have claimed Arsenal might have to sell at the very least one first-team player this summer, with the young duo in danger alongside Gabriel Martinelli and Ben White.
But Parlour also believes Jesus, who has one 12 months left on his contract in north London, could also ask to go away when the season involves an end.
Should the Brazil international move on, Parlour believes one other striker ought to be on the club’s shopping list this summer.
‘I feel Jesus might leave at the tip of the season, he’s at that age where he desires to be playing week in, week out,’ Parlour told Metro via BetMGM.

‘We could lose him. We had 4 strikers once I played. That’s what I don’t understand. (No matter Jesus leaving), usher in one other one anyway. That may give the opposite options a lift because they see the usual being set.’
The Gunners believed that they had ended their long seek for a prolific no9 after they signed Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP for £64million last July. While the he Sweden international has scored 15 times in all competitions this season, he has often struggled with the demands of English football.
Arsenal are among the many clubs weighing up a move for Argentina international Julian Alvarez, who left Manchester City to hitch Atletico Madrid in the summertime of 2024. That deal was overseen by Andrea Berta, now sporting director on the Emirates. Any move would require a proposal in excess of €100million (£87m) to even tempt Atletico into doing business.

Parlour, who won three league titles and 4 FA Cups as a Gunner, is a large admirer and would back a move for the ‘unbelievable’ striker.
‘For me, Alvarez can be an ideal addition to the squad. There’ll at all times be people coming and getting in the summer since it’s a giant squad they usually can’t keep everyone completely happy. But Alvarez can be a unbelievable choice to have along with his pace and what we saw at Man City.

‘It was at all times going to be difficult for him twiddling with Erling Haaland there but when he did start and when he did play, he was at all times vigorous.
‘He’s a young man too, so if he’s available it’s a yes for me. When understand how Arteta likes to work with young players to make them higher so I feel it could be an ideal addition, definitely.’
