Arsenal have been named as Sandro Tonali’s more than likely Premier League destination if the midfielder is sold by Newcastle United this summer.
Mikel Arteta’s side made an approach to sign Tonali within the closing stages of the January transfer window but Newcastle were quick to knock back the enquiry from the Premier League leaders.
Newcastle signed Tonali in a £55 million deal from AC Milan in 2023 and it’s understood that the club would now demand a fee in excess of £100m for the 25-year-old.
Sky Sport Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio claims Arsenal will face strong competition from Juventus this summer but believes the Gunners shall be within the driving seat if Tonali desires to remain within the Premier League.
‘I believe that Tonali is prone to leave Newcastle because a number of top European clubs want him. Juventus really wants him and he’s the primary player on their list,’ Di Marzio told AceOdds.
‘Arsenal really wants him as well, but they didn’t really attempt to sign him in January, since it was simply unimaginable. There was no possibility that he could leave Newcastle in January.

‘But I believe Arsenal will come back. The value shall be very high and as I said, only certainly one of Tonali and Guimaraes will leave, in order that they can’t each leave the club.
‘Arsenal is the more than likely destination for Tonali within the Premier League but they’re really keen on him.
‘I’m unsure if he desires to stay within the Premier League, because he might wish to return to Italy. I believe he misses Italy, however the Premier League is the highest league, so he still has to choose what he desires to do.
‘It also will depend on who can afford him, because it would be difficult for Juventus to pay the worth, and so they must qualify for the Champions League, otherwise they don’t have the cash to purchase him.
‘But when he leaves Newcastle and desires to remain within the Premier League, Arsenal needless to say is the more than likely destination.
‘But he really likes Serie A and I believe he desires to play in Serie A again. He also had a baby, so even when he stays within the Premier League, it won’t be greater than two or three years. I also think he wants to indicate the Italian fans how good he’s, probably being one of the best Italian midfielder.’
