Dana White responds to UFC fighters’ recent complaints about fighter pay

The UFC boss has attempted to reassure fighters after just a few of them aired their concerns.

Just a few weeks ago, Zuffa Boxing announced the signing of British boxer, Conor Benn, who became just their second big name signing.

Not long after his signing was announced, reports surfaced that ‘The Destroyer’ had signed a one-fight contract price $15 million.

This, in fact, didn’t sit well with several UFC stars who’ve complained in regards to the figure of Benn’s contract in comparison with UFC fighters’ contracts.

Michael Page, Sean O’Malley and Tom Aspinall are only just a few fighters who’ve complained in regards to the Benn deal, with the latter claiming that it has ‘bothered everybody’.

Despite that, at Zuffa Boxing 04 this past Sunday, UFC boss, Dana White, attempted to reassure his MMA fighters that fighter pay will probably be ‘just superb’.

“Why is it a foul thing when guys earn more money?” White said on the Zuffa Boxing 04 post-fight press conference.

“It’s never a foul thing when guys earn more money. It’s all the time a great thing when there’s more cash in the game. And since 2001, fighter pay has gone (up) non stop. Obviously, we just got an awesome television rights deal, I promise you that fighter pay is gonna be just superb over the subsequent seven years.”

Although White is adamant that fighter pay will probably be in a great spot over the subsequent seven years, there will probably be several fighters on the UFC roster who won’t still be competing in seven years.
