Colby Covington’s support of Donald Trump made him an obvious candidate for the White House card.
It’s clear why Covington was named in lots of predicted line-ups for the cardboard before the official announcement got here on Saturday night.
The previous interim welterweight champion, alongside the likes of Jon Jones, are absent from the White House card that may happen on June 14.
Bo Nickal, who desired to face ‘Chaos’, believes it’s because the promotion gave him one opportunity to be a component of the event that he passed on.

Bo Nickal believes the UFC told Colby Covington that this fight was his only White House shot
In January, Bo Nickal pitched the concept of him fighting Colby Covington on the White House following the comments that they traded backwards and forwards at a RAF event.
The American middleweight recently said on The Ariel Helwani Show that he took this concept to the UFC, who then tried to place it together.
He believes that Covington, who took his interim welterweight belt to Donald Trump after winning it in 2018, declined despite being told that this was his shot at competing on June 14.
“I asked for him and the UFC tried to make the fight, I do know they talked to him extensively and long story short, he just wouldn’t do it,” Nickal said. “I believe they even told him like, ‘Hey, if you must be on this card, you’ve got to fight Bo’ and he said no.
“So, he would reasonably be a coward and never fight me than be on the White House card… I believe that claims just about every thing concerning the guy.”
Nickal said that while he understands Covington not wanting the fight due to how it should go for him, he was surprised to see ‘Chaos’ pass on this chance.
“Because he knows I’ll kill him,” he responded when asked about Covington turning the fight down. “Everyone knows it will be mainly leading a lamb to slaughter.”

Colby Covington said Bo Nickal was ‘posturing’ by calling him out
In an interview with Bloody Elbow earlier this month, Colby Covington said that there hadn’t been any talks about him fighting Bo Nickal.
He cited the difference in weight classes and the incontrovertible fact that his fellow American isn’t ranked as reasons for his lack of interest on this clash.
‘Chaos’ also responded to a post from Nickal in February where he complimented the previous interim lightweight champion for not backing down from a challenge, which led many to consider they’d been matched up.
“It was very posturing,” Covington told Bloody Elbow. “There’s just no reason for him to call me out. He’s a unique weight class. I believed you had aspirations to go and fight Khamzat [Chimaev] and fight for the title at middleweight, why are you calling out a welterweight?
“It doesn’t really make loads of sense. He’s acting very entitled like a bit spoiled brat… It’s just sad. He’s got to earn his way up and I’m not looking to offer him a hand to the highest. He’s got to earn his way up there the hard way like I did.”
