The Reason Why WWE Deleted NXT Segment Revealed

Ricky Saints left WWE NXT: Vengeance Day without the NXT World Championship and is now moving past last week’s poorly received concert segment.

The segment was faraway from WWE’s social media platforms shortly after it aired attributable to negative fan reception, which was the reason given internally for its removal. Additional details in regards to the segment have since surfaced.

Fightful Select is reporting that sources inside WWE NXT indicated that the concert segment was not pitched by Ricky Saints himself. As an alternative, it was written for him, as he has reportedly tried to avoid material on WWE television that may draw comparisons to segments previously done by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Backstage, the segment reportedly received a lukewarm response, though those spoken to said there was little concern in regards to the long-term outlook for either Saints or Joe Hendry. Many felt each performers rebounded well by the point the pay-per-view event took place.

So far as Saints’ standing on the NXT roster is worried, many inside NXT never expected him to stay on the brand for a full 12 months after he was called up last 12 months.
