Jade Roper knows her son Reed and her late son, Beau, would have gotten along.
Roper, who shares Reed, 5, with husband Tanner Tolbert, took to Instagram on Tuesday, March 10, to gush over her infant. “Reed appreciation post,” she captioned a selfie of her and her son. “Today we went for a walk and afterwards we stopped at a park to play. There have been just a few older kids (I believe teens) there with disabilities and special needs fiddling with their caregivers.”
The Bachelor Nation star continued, “Reed was so sweet and quickly befriended one boy especially. He gave him one in all his Hot Wheels (his own idea) and for 30 min straight they raced the cars down the slide.”
She went on to praise Reed for fiddling with the boy and shared that she was “holding back tears” watching them bond. “Reed was just so patient and thoughtful and friendly and chatty,” she wrote. “It made me consider Beau, and the way perfect of a brother Reed would have been for him 🥹. I’m so happy with Reed.”
Roper, who met Tolbert, 38, during season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise, announced in 2023 that they were expecting their fourth child and experienced a pregnancy loss. (The parents, who tied the knot in 2016, also share daughter Emerson, 8, and son Brooks, 6.)
“I’ve been struggling what to put in writing here as I’ve been navigating a miscarriage,” she wrote via Instagram. “It felt like all my dreams were coming true to welcome one other baby into our lives, to like and to finish our family. While our hearts are completely broken and we’ve been coping with the deep and complicated grief of the loss, we’ve been blessed to be touched by his soul or his short period of time. I’m eternally modified.”
She added, “I’m currently experiencing what is named a missed miscarriage, so while his heart has stopped and he has stopped growing (for a while now), my body hasn’t released the pregnancy yet. I hope to do that naturally and am trusting in timing and in my body under the care of my provider.”
In December 2025, Roper shared a fake photo of what her family could have looked like while asking ChatGPT to create a family portrait.
“Did the Norman Rockwell holiday trend and an additional boy was in our image, and it touched my heart, because after all, Beau would need to make the family photo,” she captioned an AI photo of a family of six.
