India’s wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan told a journalist to ask higher questions when he was asked a couple of controversial social media post made by former cricketer Kirti Azad after India’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 victory. His comment got here after the 27-year-old returned to his hometown, Patna. In a video shared on social media, Ishan Kishan said:
“What has Kirti Azad said about this? Now, what should I say about it? Ask higher questions.”

For many who may not know, the team led by Suryakumar Yadav visited a neighborhood temple after defeating Latest Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs in the ultimate of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in Ahmedabad. Former cricketer Kirti Azad then questioned why the Indian team didn’t also visit a mosque, gurudwara, or church. In a post on X, the 1983 World Cup winner wrote:

“Why NOT a Mosque? Why NOT a Church? Why NOT a Gurudwara? This Team Represents INDIA — not Surya Kumar Yadav’s or Jay Shah’s Family ! Siraj never paraded it at a Mosque. Sanju never took it to a Church. latter had a significant part to play and was man of the tournament. The Trophy Belongs to 1.4 BILLION Indians of EVERY Faith — NOT ONE RELIGION’S VICTORY.

“It Feels Great”- Ishan Kishan On ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Win
Ishan Kishan said he may be very thankful for winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and added that the achievement will encourage young players, especially those that come from small or distant places like him. He said (via Asian News International):
“It feels great because I consider the higher I perform, the more motivation it is going to be for the young kids here who need to grow. I all the time try to make sure as many players as possible emerge from every corner. Now that we’ve played the World Cup, it shows that with labor, you may succeed from anywhere.”
When asked about his future plans, Ishan Kishan added:
“Nothing much, just keep scoring runs, keep playing, and keep winning.”
Ishan Kishan finished as India’s second-highest run-scorer within the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The left-handed batter scored 317 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 193.29 and hit three half-centuries. He was only behind Sanju Samson, who was named Player of the Tournament with 321 runs in five innings. In the ultimate against the Latest Zealand national cricket team .
