Oleksandr Usyk rules out fighting Moses Itauma as he maps out three-fight retirement plan

Oleksandr Usyk has revealed that he’ll fight three more times before he finally retires from the game.

The pound-for-pound primary boxer last stepped into the ring last July when he took on Daniel Dubois in a rematch.

After that, there have been talks that Oleksandr Usyk may retire from the game after achieving the whole lot possible in boxing.

Despite that, earlier this month, it was shockingly announced that Usyk will defend his WBC world heavyweight title against legendary kickboxer Rico Verhoeven, in an epic clash on the Pyramids of Giza.

Usyk outlines three-fight retirement plan

Although their clash on May 23 is a large super fight in the game, the 39-year-old Ukrainian is anticipated to beat Verhoeven pretty comfortably.

And coming toward the backend of his profession, Usyk has outlined his three-fight retirement plan, which unfortunately doesn’t include a clash against 21-year-old Moses Itauma.

“Listen, Rico, that is first, second, it’s whoever wins (out of Fabio) Wardley vs Dubois and third fight, it’s my friend, greedy belly Tyson Fury,” Usyk told Inside The Ring.

Fabio Wardley is about to defend his WBO world heavyweight title against Dubois this coming May 9, with the winner being picked by Usyk.

Tyson Fury can also be set to return to the ring this yr, making yet one more comeback to the game when he takes on Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11.

‘The Gypsy King’ returned to the game hoping that he would immediately give you the option to fight Usyk, nevertheless, he’ll compete in what’s considered a ‘warm up’ fight first, potentially sealing a trilogy against his rival.

Is anyone thinking about a trilogy fight between Usyk and Fury?

When Usyk and Fury first met contained in the ring back in May 2024, the 39-year-old narrowly beat the Brit, picking up the split decision win.

But once they rematched later that yr in December, Usyk put a stamp on the rivalry by dominating the 37-year-old on the technique to a unanimous decision win.

And with that in mind, there may be far less interest for a trilogy fight between the 2, because the rematch wasn’t exactly considered a competitive fight.
