The Latest Jersey Devils took on the Boston Bruins on Monday night. It was a game the Devils had no postseason stake in. Nevertheless, it could’ve been huge for the Bruins. Unfortunately for Boston, Devils forward Paul Cotter prevented them from celebrating with each points in tow.
Cotter scored a reasonably extra time goal in a somewhat chaotic sequence near the top of the period. The puck was loose for a lot of the play, but they were in a position to get it up ice, allowing Cotter to place home the shot. After the sport, the Devils forward explained what went down on the ice.
“We were form of hemmed in and there was somewhat craziness happening and I remember right when the puck was up, I took a peek on the clock and knew it was winding down,” Cotter said, via NHL.com. “I checked out Dougie (Hamilton) and he yelled to maintain going so I attempted to do something quick and pleased it went in.”
This was not Cotter’s only goal of the sport, either. The Devils forward also opened the scoring within the third period. His third-period marker gave Latest Jersey a 3-2 lead in the ultimate frame of regulation. Nevertheless, David Pastrnak scored shortly thereafter to tie things 3-3.
The Devils at the moment are on the 70-point mark on this season. Unfortunately, Latest Jersey is basically out of the playoff race. They continue to be 11 points back of the Bruins despite defeating them on Monday night. Latest Jersey returns to motion on Wednesday night once they tackle the Latest York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
