Virat Kohli Picks His All-Time RCB XI

Batting legend Virat Kohli has picked his all-time Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) XI before the upcoming IPL season. Nevertheless, Kohli returns to motion on March 28 as RCB begin their title defence against the SunRisers Hyderabad at home as well. In a viral video, Kohli was asked to call his best RCB XI, and he shared a mix of six batters, two frontline seamers, one all-rounder, and one spinner as well.

“I might say Gayle and myself to open AB at three. Okay, let me get the 4 overseas out of the best way. AB, Chris, and Mitchell Starc, because he played for us. The 4th overseas player for me can be, I believe, Dale (Steyn), because I would love the bowling to be even stronger in that XI. So yeah, you bought two seamers; you bought Chris, myself and AB,” Virat Kohli said in a video posted by RCB.

He also shared the names of KL Rahul, Rajat Patidar, Dinesh Karthik, Harshal Patel, Anil Kumble and Yuzvendra Chal to finish his playing XI.

“At 4, I might have KL (Rahul). He had a tremendous season, I believe, batting at 4 for us. Five, I might say, give five to Rajat (Patidar), possibly, because he plays spin amazingly well and he’s the most effective Indian talents that we’ve had. Six can be Dinesh (Karthik), of course, and Yuzi (Yuzvendra Chahal) at 11 for his batting ability. Now I’ve got seven and eight left, right? Anil Bhai (Kumble) at eight – wow, that will be an unbelievable 11. Okay, I’ll go Harshal (Patel), along with his little little bit of batting ability as well. And he suits in as the proper third seamer; he’s been bowling in numerous phases,” he added.

He picked himself to open with Chris Gayle at the highest.

Virat Kohli’s all-time RCB XI: Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers, KL Rahul, Rajat Patidar, Dinesh Karthik, Harshal Patel, Anil Kumble, Mitchell Starc, Dale Steyn, Yuzvendra Chahal
