Ricochet continues to face significant backlash after a controversial social media post through which he told a girl he was “glad” she had multiple sclerosis (MS).
His wife, former WWE announcer Samantha Irvin, revealed that she has received a wave of disturbing messages within the aftermath. Irvin, who deactivated her Twitter account following the incident, later shared screenshots of Instagram DMs she received, a few of which included threats directed at each her and Ricochet. These vile threats proceed to return at her though she didn’t send out the tweet in query.
The situation began when a girl criticized Ricochet’s acting ability online. He responded with the remark, “I’m glad you bought MS.” The girl replied, “Well if that makes you completely satisfied have an amazing life …”
Although Ricochet was seemingly attempting to remain in character, many fans felt that he crossed a line. He ultimately deleted the comment and issued a public apology. He wrote,
“I took out my hatred for the IWC [internet wrestling community] on Sandi, and inadvertently others who’re affected by MS. She didn’t deserve it and for that, I sincerely apologize.”
Ricochet and Irvin made their relationship public in 2021 and were married in 2025. The 2 previously worked together in WWE before departing around the identical time, with Ricochet later signing with AEW.
