Thomas Tuchel has not ruled out the potential of Arsenal sensation Max Dowman making his England squad for this summer’s World Cup.
The 16-year-old scored his first goal for the Gunners last Saturday having made his competitive debut at just 15 earlier within the campaign.
His incredible rise has sparked debate over whether he’s an option for Tuchel this summer, having drawn comparisons with Manchester United and England legend Wayne Rooney.
Dowman was not included within the England squad for upcoming friendly games against Japan and Uruguay.
Tuchel is desperate to see Dowman proceed progressing at Arsenal, labelling the teenager an ‘outstanding talent’ who’s in the very best possible place competing with the Premier League leaders.
While he warned his lack of normal first-team football shall be an element having played just 46 senior minutes this season, Tuchel left the door open for a shock inclusion in his squad this summer should he proceed to shine.
‘He’s within the highlight now,’ Tuchel told a press conference on Friday.

‘He’s an excellent talent, everyone who tells me about Max praises him and is filled with compliments.
‘The truth is on the minute, he’s competing for minutes and isn’t a daily starter for Arsenal. I believe he’s in a unbelievable environment at a competitive club, a stable club, a club where teamwork is the no1 role.
‘He learns from the very best. With these young guys, we see these players as you do as well.

‘In the mean time he’s in place to fight for minutes and fight for his place at Arsenal and we at all times have the prospect to perhaps call him up for the World Cup.
‘The thing with young players is to maintain the momentum going and keep their excitement.
‘They’ve a level of fearless but no have to call him up now and increase the pressure and the noise that comes with it.’
