George Liddard Outpoints Tyler Denny, Adds IBF Intercontinental Title

George Liddard retained his British and Commonwealth middleweight titles and added the IBF Intercontinental belt with a unanimous decision over Tyler Denny in a competitive 12-round foremost event.

All three judges scored the fight 116-112 for Liddard, who improved to 14-0 and was prolonged the space in a demanding fight against the experienced challenger.

Liddard made a rapid start, landing clean shots within the opening round, including a right hand that caught Denny early. He kept his work rate regular within the early rounds, landing together and setting the pace.

Denny settled after the early rounds and worked at close range with higher activity. Several rounds were close on the scorecards, with each fighters landing in brief stretches.

There have been no knockdowns. Each fighters landed clean shots throughout the middle rounds, with Liddard continuing to search out success with straighter punches while Denny relied on volume and physical work at short distance.

Liddard closed the fight with regular work within the later rounds, maintaining his output and landing the cleaner punches in enough moments to secure the choice on all three scorecards.

Liddard (14-0, 8 KOs) completes one other title defense and adds a regional belt, with the fight serving as a full-distance test against an opponent with experience at domestic and European level.

Denny (21-4-3, 1 KO) was not dropped and remained competitive across all 12 rounds, applying pressure and continuing to work despite falling behind on the cards. His effort kept the fight close and prolonged the unbeaten champion the space.
