Movsar Evloev breaks his silence
Movsar Evloev’s initial message was geared toward UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski.
‘The Great’ was a little bit bit confused about Evloev’s game plan, but impressed by what he saw from his likely next challenger at UFC London.
“I’ll hearken to your interview, and one thing about me, I’ll never make excuses,” Evloev tweeted.
“I really don’t imagine I want wrestling to beat you. You’re an ideal champion, and I respect you, however it could be something special to take your throne. Big respect, see you soon.”
The 32-year-old subsequently addressed the negativity surrounding his latest UFC win.
That is for all my haters. A few the opponents I beat had so much to say about me, they usually weren’t very nice. A few the others were respectful,” Evloev added.
“Either way, love me or hate me, I’m going to be a champion, and you may not. I’m only focused on winners. Losers stay focused on winners, and also you already lost.”
Which former opponents hated on Movsar Evloev?
Aljamain Sterling said there may be ‘no way Movsar Evloev should’ve won’ following UFC London.
The previous bantamweight champion went three rounds with Movsar Evloev at UFC 310 in December 2024.
Fans were outraged when Sterling fell to a controversial unanimous decision defeat, so it’s comprehensible why he was angrier than most about Evloev benefiting from one other debatable win.
Arnold Allen also expressed his view that Lerone Murphy should’ve gotten the victory this weekend.
Nevertheless, ‘Almighty’ was quick to congratulate Evloev when the choice went the opposite way.
Murphy was initially filled with praise for Evloev post-fight, but he modified his tune on Sunday.
“Just watched the fight back,” he wrote on X alongside a laughing emoji.
“Congrats to Evloev either way.”
