The Yellowstone solid has continued to seek out success after the hit Paramount Network show got here to an end — with some even scoring spinoffs.
Yellowstone, which ran from 2018 to 2024, became an overnight success for its story in regards to the conflicts along the shared border of a giant cattle ranch, the Broken Rock Indian reservation and land developers. Kevin Costner was the initial draw as John Dutton, but soon viewers were tuning in for the show’s other leads — including Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Gil Birmingham, Cole Hauser and Kelsey Asbille.
While Yellowstone was still releasing recent episodes on Paramount Network, creator Taylor Sheridan was already planning to expand with prequels 1883 and 1923. The series orders continued with shows set in the current day, including Marshals and The Dutton Ranch.
There are also two shows — 1944 and 6666 — which have been announced but remain in production limbo. While 1944 was picked up for a full season, there haven’t been major updates since, and 6666 has been placed on hold for the foreseeable future.
Amid Yellowstone’s expansion, among the show’s alums returned to the TV franchise while others moved on. Keep scrolling to see where each Yellowstone solid member is now:
Kevin Costner

Yellowstone was poised for a lengthy run on the Paramount Network but rumors about Kevin Costner’s future on the show put things to a halt. While Costner and series creator Taylor Sheridan denied reports of a feud, Paramount Network confirmed in May 2023 that Yellowstone would end for good at the top of season 5. The hits kept coming with Costner not returning for the second half of the ultimate season.
Costner shifted his focus to directing and acting in Horizon: An American Saga. He has also been involved in Kevin Costner Presents: The First Christmas and Kevin Costner’s the West.
Luke Grimes

After playing Kayce Dutton, Luke Grimes remained within the Yellowstone world with CBS spinoff Marshals.
Kelly Reilly

Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton also scored her own show on Paramount+ titled The Dutton Ranch, which airs in May 2026. She has also appeared on Greek Salad and Under Salt Marsh.
Wes Bentley

The series finale killed off Wes Bentley’s character, Jamie Dutton. The actor is next set to star on Ryan Murphy’s The Shards, which is an adaptation of the novel of the identical name by Bret Easton Ellis.
Cole Hauser

The Dutton Ranch will feature one other familiar face when Cole Hauser reprises the role of Rip.
Kelsey Asbille

Kelsey Asbille’s character Monica was killed off in CBS’ Marshals. Since Yellowstone, Asbille booked the leading role in Netflix’s film Don’t Move alongside Finn Wittrock. She also had a recurring role in season 4 of Fargo.
Jefferson White

Despite Jefferson White scoring his own Yellowstone spinoff, there hasn’t been any news about Jimmy’s show 6666. He has since filmed episodes of You, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Death of a Brewer, November 1963 and John Rambo.
Gil Birmingham

Gil Birmingham continues to be set to play Chief Thomas Rainwater in Marshals — along with filming Taylor Sheridan’s Wind River: The Next Chapter.
Mo Brings Plenty

The actor, who played Mo, is back on Marshals.
