Royal Challengers Bengaluru Director of Cricket Mo Bobat has confirmed that Yash Dayal will miss your entire Indian Premier League 2026 as a result of a “personal situation.” The left-arm fast bowler had been retained by the team before the auction but hasn’t played any competitive cricket because the IPL 2025 final.

After RCB’s title win last season, Dayal got caught up in serious controversy. A lady from Ghaziabad filed a police grievance accusing him of sexual harassment and exploitation on the promise of marriage. In response, Dayal also filed a grievance, alleging that the girl had stolen from him.

The situation became more serious when one other case was filed in Jaipur. A 17-year-old girl accused him of rape, claiming he promised to assist her cricket profession. Following this, a case was registered against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Before RCB’s IPL 2026 opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Bobat spoke in regards to the situation and confirmed Dayal’s unavailability.

“He’s going through a private situation. He stays under contract. It was decided in his best interest,” he said (via Cricbuzz).

Due to the serious legal cases and multiple allegations against him, the Uttar Pradesh T20 League suspended the player for the 2025 season in August 2025.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru were already unsure about Yash Dayal’s availability even before the IPL 2026 auction, in order that they were desirous about picking a backup option for him.
