It has now been confirmed that Ronda Rousey’s appearance at AEW Revolution 2026 was a one-off, with no additional dates currently planned.
Bryan Alvarez explained that the cameo was largely opportunistic. With AEW Revolution 2026 going down in Los Angeles — where Rousey resides — it provided a convenient platform to advertise her upcoming fight against Gina Carano on May 16. Alvarez said,
“I can confirm that Ronda Rousey is completed with AEW. It was in LA, she’s in LA, and he or she saw it as a simple technique to plug the fight. She showed up, they promoted it immediately, and that was it. Once I saw what they did, I figured that they had to be constructing to something. She confronted Toni Storm, then Storm got attacked by Marina Shafir, Rousey laughed, and it felt like an enormous angle. She even left with the Death Riders. People said she couldn’t do a match because she’s training, but she could’ve been in Marina’s corner or done something. Apparently not. She agreed to that one night, and that’s it.”
While there are currently no plans for her return, Alvarez clarified that the door isn’t completely closed. He said,
“It’s not that she will’t come back — there’s just nothing scheduled right away.”
Rousey originally appeared at Revolution 2026 in support of Shafir and later shared on her YouTube channel that a part of her motivation was taking a shot at TKO Group Holdings following the breakdown of her potential return to the UFC.
