This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown featured a surprising title change, as Carmelo Hayes dropped america Championship to Sami Zayn — a result few expected so near WrestleMania 42.
Following the loss, speculation quickly spread that Hayes is perhaps stepping away from WWE programming to marry Kelani Jordan. The rumors were fueled by a photographer and videographer hired by the couple, who recently shared images and video online that led many to imagine the 2 had already tied the knot.
Nevertheless, that doesn’t seem like the case. A report from Bodyslam+ clarified that the content in query actually got here from the couple’s engagement ceremony last July. As of now, Hayes just isn’t expected to take break day during WrestleMania season, though his plans for the Las Vegas event remain unclear.
Hayes’ United States Title reign lasted 98 days. He originally won the championship from Ilja Dragunov on the December 19, 2025 episode of SmackDown and went on to successfully defend it multiple times, often through open challenges.
