Naga Chaitanya Reveals Reason Behind Absence From Bollywood Movies

Naga Chaitanya recently opened up about why he hasn’t signed one other Hindi film after his Bollywood debut in Laal Singh Chaddha alongside Aamir Khan. Despite the film receiving a lukewarm response, the actor clarified that its box office performance has not influenced his decision to avoid Hindi cinema. Addressing the gap, he said, “There isn’t any specific reason. Definitely, my eyes are open. It’s just after that film, I’ve been working on projects here, they usually’ve taken lots of my effort and time. So, I’m looking forward to a possibility in Hindi and all my energies are on the market to do something special over there again.”

When asked if the film’s underwhelming performance made him more cautious, Chaitanya dismissed the thought, emphasising the positive experience he had while working on the project. He said, “Not likely, because I actually enjoyed myself shooting for that film. I learned a lot, and the people there have been so warm and took such excellent care of me. So the experience has been nothing short of wonderful. As for a way the film fares within the box office, I feel we’re mature enough to grasp that some movies have ups and downs, but that doesn’t stop us from our pursuit. So, the success has not modified my mindset in any way.”

Naga Chaitanya Calls His Recent Projects ‘Demanding’

Elaborating further, the actor explained that his recent projects, including Thandel and Vrushakarma, have been highly demanding and time-intensive. The actor shared, “Each Thandel (2025) and Vrushakarma are extremely complex movies. I understood how complex Vrushakarma is barely after we began shooting the film, because almost 80 percent of the film revolves around VFX. And if you work with such sorts of stories, the pipeline of labor gets very complex. There’s lots of pre-production that we’ve to do.”

Chaitanya continued,” It’s just the stories which might be demanding this time. I’m not strategizing or anything like that. I’m just attempting to stay and provides my 100% to the script I’m doing at that time of time. After all, some movies we will make faster, some movies take time, and I’m going through those scripts without delay. But I actually have nothing to complain about, because at the tip of the day, it’s the success that matters essentially the most. It’s not about what number of movies you probably did that yr or not.”

Is Naga Chaitanya Returning To Bollywood?

On the potential for returning to Bollywood amid increasing cross-industry collaborations, Chaitanya stressed that timing isn’t the deciding factor. The Majili actor shared, “It’s not about an apt time for me, as at the tip of the day, it’s in regards to the script. I’m an actor at heart, and it’s about what form of characters and roles I get. Language isn’t a barrier anymore; the audience is exposed to all types of movies from various languages. So for me, it’s more in regards to the character I get that’s going to actually drive me to do a project, and I’d equally apply that to any language.”

He concluded,” I’m open to doing a Hindi film, however it’s something that has to motivate me. It must be fresh, where I should have the ability to work with filmmakers I actually love. It’s the connection, it’s the journey that’s more essential for me than anything. It’s the journey that teaches you a lot, so I’m looking for all this anywhere. It’s not only now, I’ve all the time been open and all the time will likely be open.”
