Actor Jr NTR – born Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, is certainly one of the highest stars across the country who has earned himself a spot within the hearts of thousands and thousands along with his performances spanning many years. During an exclusive interaction with Bollywood Bubble, the actor opened up about his acting approach and the way he balances high-intensity, larger-than-life moments with emotional depth on screen.
In the course of the same interaction, he also reflected on his collaborations with SS Rajamouli right from his 2001 film Student No. 1 to Simhadri, Yamadonga, and at last RRR. NTR has gone on record and credited the director for always shaping and difficult him. Read on to know all he shared.
NTR: I Was Very Naive Once I Did Student No 1 With SS Rajamouli
When asked about his acting process and the way it’s like working with different directors, NTR tells us, “I believe I’m a mirror image of my directors… I even have never had a hard and fast process or a recipe to deliver acting. No actor can really have a set method” The ‘ War 2’ actor also shared that a director stays the “captain of the ship,” guiding actors through their performances.
Elaborating further, he described how he embraced “naivety” throughout his journey from being latest during Student No. 1 and Simhadri, to evolving through Yamadonga and eventually RRR, all under Rajamouli’s direction. He explained that this quality allows him to remain open, instinctive, and receptive to a director’s vision reasonably than over-strategizing his craft.
He shared, “Rajamouli has at all times been a director who has challenged me because this was my fourth collaboration with him. I used to be very naive after I did Student No. 1 with him; I used to be even naive after I did Simhadri with him, after which I became naiver after I did Yamadonga with him. I believe I even have now crossed this boundary of being naive and have change into a ‘Bheem’ for him.”
NTR added, “What I even have learned on this process is that an actor somewhere needs to be naive to know and deliver what he is supposed to. I even have at all times cheered for being naive. So when a script was narrated to me, I made sure I feel that naivety within the role given to me.”
