Hardik Pandya’s girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma, was seen taking good care of his five-year-old son Agastya and protecting him from paparazzi outside Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, March 29. They’d come to observe the Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2026 opening match against Kolkata Knight Riders.
After the match, a number of photographers gathered around them outside the stadium. Mahieka requested them not to make use of flashlights since she was with the kid. She also asked people to make way, saying:
“Sir, Agastya ke sath hoon, thoda side dijiye (Sir, I’m with Agastya, please move aside).”
Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya’s team, the Mumbai Indians, won the match against Kolkata Knight Riders by six wickets. They successfully chased a giant goal of 221 runs in only 19.1 overs. Openers Ryan Rickelton(81 runs off 43 balls) and Rohit Sharma (78 runs off 38 balls) played very well with the bat.
All-rounder Shardul Thakur was named Player of the Match for taking three wickets. It’s also vital to notice that the Mumbai Indians won their first match of the season after 13 years. The last time they won their opening game was in 2012, once they beat the Chennai Super Kings.

Rohit Sharma gave Mumbai Indians a robust start within the run chase with a wonderful innings at the highest. The previous captain scored in a short time, at a strike rate of 205.26, hitting six sixes and 6 fours. Speaking after the match, Hardik Pandya praised Rohit’s innings. He also said that Rohit’s shot-making often leaves fans amazed.
“It’s a treat. I’ve seen batters play some terrific shots. But each time I’ve seen Ro play some shots, I believe it opens everyone’s mouth. So, nothing short of outstanding, nothing in need of sensible. And I’m so, so glad that Rohit played his knock.”
Hardik Pandya bowled three overs, gave away 39 runs, and took one wicket. He also stayed not out on 18 runs from 11 balls within the match. Next, the Mumbai Indians will play against the Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Stadium in a day match on Saturday, April 4.
