Merab Dvalishvili refuses nose surgery
Merab Dvalishvili took to Instagram to point out off his injured nose on Wednesday.
“What a very good day and what a silly accident,” he said. “
Again, 12 years after, my nose is f—ed up even worse. As you see, it’s much more cracked, same direction. Once I touch, my bones are broken inside, and one side I can’t even breathe. I’m gonna do X-ray now.
“I’m sure UFC will help me with that, though I don’t have a fight coming up. I’m gonna attempt to do surgery to repair this nose, and let’s see the way it goes. First time once I broke my nose, it was in skilled debut. Now, it was just sparring. I got kneed.”
Dvalishvili’s desire for nose surgery quickly modified when he heard in regards to the recovery time.
‘The Machine’ opted to power through the injury after learning surgery could sideline him for a yr.
“I did my X-ray, and X-ray shows that my nose is broken at two places,” Dvalishvili said in one other video.
“I just saw doctor, nose surgeon, and he said if he’ll fix my nose after which make straight, then he has to re-break other bones too, and it would take another yr to heal up. In fact, I don’t want to do this.
“Otherwise, he said keep it that way, and you possibly can do surgery after you retire, but I said, ‘I’m not going into retirement the subsequent 20 years.’ So, I assume I’m going to maintain my nose much more crooked than what it was before.
“I’m gonna cope with that, and I’m still going to compete at wrestling tournament against Henry Cejudo at RAF, and that’s it. God bless everyone.”
Merab Dvalishvili’s next fight
As he mentioned above, Merab Dvalishvili doesn’t currently have a UFC fight booked.
The 35-year-old is hoping to be granted an instantaneous rematch with Petr Yan later this yr.
Yan took Dvalishvili’s bantamweight title with a unanimous decision win at UFC 323 in December.
Since then, the brand new 135lb king has undergone a serious nine-hour surgery on his back.
It’s hoped Yan will likely be fit to fight this summer, but there is no such thing as a official timeline for his return yet.
Within the meantime, Dvalishvili will stay busy by wrestling Henry Cejudo at RAF 8 on April 18.
