Gord Stellick: “So the Toronto Maple Leaf situation, or 31 other situations. He’s a friend and colleague of yours now, Chris Pronger, just on our show, so we asked him, his name is on the market. He said he’s not been asked by Toronto. I believe playing slightly bit coy about Never say never. Never say no. It’s got to be the suitable type of situation.

And folks fans get caught up with sexy names, but there’s been quite a lot of, as we all know, the Luc Robitalle’s of the world, the Jeff Jackson‘s of the world, whether it’s a president or general manager. What type of traction do you think that he is perhaps getting for this example or every other situations?”

Is Chris Pronger Concerned with a Management Role Again?

Elliotte Friedman: “Well, Gordy, like I actually have to say, I’ve all the time considered Chris Pronger as incredibly talented. I’ve all the time considered him as a mean player that I loved watching. And I all the time considered him as a man, that if I used to be constructing a team, I’d take him 100 times out of 100, but I’ve never considered him as sexy until now.” (laughs)

Stellick: (laughs) “Okay, do away with that visual.”

Friedman: ” I believe Pronger was interviewed in Nashville. I’m going to get myself in trouble here. I don’t just like the whole Nashville process. It was about like, an interview is perhaps the mistaken word. They definitely spoke to him, I used the phrase interview once, and someone said to me, it wasn’t an interview. It was like a get together. Like, an off-the-cuff introduction. Anyway, he spoke to Nashville, and he was a part of that search.

I don’t think he’s going to be, I don’t imagine he’s one among the finalists, but they definitely talked. And just like the one thing I’ve learned about Keith Pelley, I worked for Keith before, and I’m coping with him now as a reporter, is that he takes meetings. Like, any person says, I’m going to fulfill with you. If any person calls him and says, Keith, I’d like to fulfill with you, he’ll listen. Like he’s not afraid to take a gathering, and he’s not afraid to sit down down with someone and listen to what they need to say.

It would be an interesting offseason of change for the Toronto Maple Leafs

And so I wouldn’t know if Chris is interested, and I’m with you, Gord, I actually have little doubt he’s interested. It wouldn’t surprise me if Pelley said, you understand what, I’d prefer to see what this guy’s about.”

NHLRumors.com Note: We all know the Nashville Predators have talked to a big selection of candidates for his or her open position. Pronger has been a part of that process. There isn’t a doubt he’ll talk over with the Toronto Maple Leafs as well. He’s a hot commodity, and there’s a reason his name is on the market.
