Memphis isn’t letting LeBron James’ comments slide. After the NBA superstar suggested the Grizzlies should move to Nashville and criticized town, Mayor Paul Young stepped up, making it clear Memphis has plenty to point out off.
On April 3, Young took to X to reply, first giving a shoutout to ‘First Take’ panelists Stephen A. Smith and Kendrick Perkins, who criticized James’ remarks earlier within the day. Then, turning on to LeBron, Young wrote, “@kingjames, I’d welcome the possibility to show your criticism into motion in probably the most necessary cities on this planet,” Young shared. “Come to Memphis and roll around with me for a bit and I’ll show you among the culture and powerful investment opportunities in our City.” The mayor’s daring invite has fans buzzing, making it clear Memphis isn’t backing down.
