Speaking after the sport, Arteta revealed Gabriel asked to get replaced, describing the situation as ‘not ideal.’
Arteta said in his post-match press conference when asked concerning the Brazilian: ‘I don’t know. He felt something, we don’t know exactly what it’s.
‘But when a player asks to be substituted, it isn’t ideal.’
Saliba, who replaced his teammate after the knock, was one other who missed the international break as he recovered from an ankle issue.
