In 2018, WWE did something recent by holding the primary Evolution pay-per-view, with a card consisting entirely of ladies. It took some time, but the corporate brought Evolution back in 2025, and lots of are hoping there is a shorter turnaround before the third edition. That features Rhea Ripley, who brought the event up while speaking on the “Ebro Laura Rosenberg Show.”
“I do know we had to attend – what was it? Eight years for Evolution 2,” Ripley said. “I feel like we went on the market and we showed everyone exactly what we are able to do, and I’m hoping it takes less time now for Evolution 3. I actually hope that everybody watched that and went, ‘Wow, this must be a yearly thing.'”
Ripley’s comments got here within the midst of a broader conversation concerning the progress of ladies’s wrestling during the last decade-plus. The WWE star shared that she’s excited to see how things proceed to progress from here, including after she eventually decides to hold up her boots. Ripley is just 29 years old, in order that’s not more likely to occur any time soon.
“We’re attempting to arrange the long run for higher things,” Ripley continued. “I really need to depart this company where the ladies’s division is healthier off.”
The second edition of Evolution took place last July, with Ripley facing IYO SKY principal event, during which Naomi cashed in her Money within the Bank contract and won the Women’s World Championship. Ripley was a fresh addition to the WWE roster when the primary Evolution took place in 2018, but she did wrestle a dark match at that show as well, with Dakota Kai as her opponent.
