Dana White signs two of Eddie Hearn’s former stars in continuation of Conor Benn fallout

Eddie Hearn accurately predicted that two former members of his roster could be on their method to Zuffa Boxing.

In February, Dana White shockingly signed Conor Benn to his recent boxing promotion in a move that caught all the sport off guard.

Things didn’t end well between Benn and Hearn despite their close working relationship that led to a number of success in recent times.

Nonetheless, two recent additions to the Zuffa Boxing roster are examples of why this move didn’t come completely out of the blue.

Zuffa Boxing signs Edgar Berlanga and Richardson Hitchins following Matchroom exit

On Wednesday, Zuffa Boxing announced that Edgar Berlanga and Richardson Hitchins have joined the promotion’s roster.

Berlanga (23-2) is a two-time NABO super middleweight champion who challenged Canelo Alvarez and got here up short in September of 2024.

Hitchins (20-0) is the reigning IBF light welterweight champion, having won the belt in December 2024, before successfully defending it against George Kambosos Jr. last June.

Each men were previously signed to Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing and are managed by Keith Connolly, who can be an element of Conor Benn’s team.

In March, Hearn said on The Ariel Helwani Show that while he won’t ever rule it out, he doesn’t need to work with Connolly again.

Hearn previously predicted that each Berlanga and Hitchins would sign with Zuffa Boxing attributable to them becoming free agents.

When Hitchins announced himself as a free agent after beating Kambosos Jr. on a Matchroom event, Hearn responded in an interview with iFL.

“Richardson is kid. He’s just got some snakes around him, and people snakes will make you’re feeling like they’re your guy,” he said. “But the fact is, they’re bloodsuckers. Certain individuals take an even bigger percentage or the identical percentage because the promoter who’s bankrolling you and paying to your entire path in the game and making the investment.”
