Gavin Rossdale is revealing what it was really like living next to Britney Spears. During an April 2026 interview, the Bush musician called the “Oops!… I Did It Again” singer a “real character” and reflected on an experience when she got here over and went swimming together.

In an April 7 interview with Sirius XM’s Page Six Radio, Rossdale reflected on a time when he went swimming with Spears, something that the “Toxic” singer had already discussed a number of years ago.
“In fact,” he replied. “How could you forget that?” He went on to explain how they was neighbors and that she “got on very well” with him and his children.
“Well, we were neighbors. And so she got here round, I feel, when the youngsters were small, and he or she was an actual character,” he recalled.
He went on to praise the pop star, calling her “lovely” and “amazing.” He also called her “an ideal swimmer.”

The hosts asked if Rossdale’s children – Kingston, now 19, Zuma, now 17, and Apollo, now 12 – got together with Spears’ two sons: Sean Preston, now 20, and Jayden James, now 19.
Nonetheless, he revealed that they were all “too busy chatting with Britney.”
He also opened up on his parenting style, revealing that it was necessary to him not to lift “jerks.”
“That’s all I put my mind to, not forcing any doctrine on them. Not too many guardrails,” he explained. “Just be there and make them be cool and nice and sort and kind of fascinated by other people. And never self-obsessed.”
Rossdale continued, “Just attempt to lift their heads as much as the world and see it…I just wanted them to be good people, and so they are.”

Rossdale and Gwen Stefani split in 2015. She went on to marry Blake Shelton in 2021, adding one other dynamic to their co-parenting relationship.
“It’s an interesting form of [relationship],” Rossdale told Fox News Digital in March. “It’s a two-lane highway, you realize, but they don’t ever appear to merge, which is advantageous.”
“[She’s] probably doing the very best she will be able to, and I’m doing the very best I can,” he continued. “And the youngsters are growing up, so I’m a proud proponent of the system.”

Meanwhile, Britney Spears has reconnected together with her two sons following the tip of her controversial 13-year conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021, when it was finally struck down by a judge.
On March 30, the “Gimme More” singer took to Instagram to share several photos and videos of herself on a yacht together with her two sons, whom she shares together with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.
“I’m flying, I’m flying, Jack – I higher stay present every time I can,” Britney wrote within the caption, seemingly making a “Titanic” reference.
She then added, “I higher stay present every time I can. I should disappear for a way slow they went on that boat … I can still dream folks !!! PS… it’s been five years, JUST SAYING!” Many fans imagine that her P.S. was with reference to the tip of her conservatorship.
Britney’s Sons Will Be ‘Spending Time With Her’ Following DUI Arrest
On Thursday, March 4, the “Criminal” singer was arrested on suspicion of a DUI while driving near her home in Ventura, California. On the time, a rep revealed that her sons could be spending more time together with her following her arrest.
“Her boys are going to be spending time together with her. Her family members are going to give you an overdue needed plan to set her up for fulfillment for well being,” the rep said.
The California Highway Patrol claimed that the Princess of Pop was “driving erratically at a high rate of speed … showed signs of impairment and submitted to a series of field sobriety tests” and “was subsequently arrested for a violation of California Vehicle Code section 23152(g), driving under the influence of a mixture of medicine and alcohol.”
Her rep called it “an unlucky incident that is totally inexcusable,” but went on to say, “Britney goes to take the fitting steps and comply with the law and hopefully this could be step one in long overdue change that should occur in Britney’s life. Hopefully, she will be able to get the assistance and support she needs during this difficult time.”
