CM Punk says that headlining WrestleMania can have been the driving force behind his return to WWE. Punk made his comeback at Survivor Series 2023, marking his first appearance with the corporate in nearly a decade.
Speaking during a recent episode of “WWE Now,” Punk was asked if important eventing WrestleMania would fulfill a goal he set for himself earlier in his profession. He said,
“You already know, satisfy, I don’t know if it’s the word, however it is likely to be dangerous because, yeah, because in case you take into consideration this, if I important evented WrestleMania before I left, I don’t think I’d have come back because I’d have done it. What am I coming back for?”
He continued, “It’s just one among those things. I did it last 12 months, and there’s that moment in Unreal where there’s at all times cameras on us, but I didn’t know they were shooting me at that moment. That moment was just me standing within the ring after the very fact. I didn’t win, and it’s far beyond being about that, and I used to be just standing within the ring by myself, and I used to be just like all 4 sides of the gang and like people. I could tell there’s people from quite a few different countries, and I’m just type of like looking around all 4 sides, similar to soaking it in. Well, if that is the last time I’m ever going to be in a hoop. I did it.”
