Lambrini Girls Drop Out of Coachella Over Brain Injury

Lambrini Girls have dropped out of Coachella 2026 on the eleventh hour because of a serious health scare for singer Phoebe Lunny.

“Long story short: I fractured my neck and have an acute brain injury,” Lunny, 27, announced via Instagram on Thursday, April 9. “TLDR: happened in Australia. Misdiagnosed. Late treatment. Doctors orders are I can’t fly or perform for six weeks.”

Lunny confirmed that Lambrini Girls are postponing all upcoming U.S. concert dates to permit her adequate time to get better before their U.K. and European shows in late May go ahead as planned.

The punk singer also acknowledged that Lambrini Girls’ absence from Coachella would surely be upsetting for fans because “it’s dark times, especially within the states.”

“There are such a lot of good folks who’re carving out community and lifting one another up within the face of fascism,” Lunny wrote. “Making space for subversion and resistance is on the core of what this band is about.”

She went on, “Seeing people of all ages, genders and backgrounds come together to mosh, lift one another up, chant, cry, scream in each parts joyful and offended, is my biggest joy.”

Lunny assured Lambrini Girls’ devoted fans that she would have carried on with the Coachella 2026 set if it was in any respect possible.

“We have now received quite numerous messages re Coachella, we’re so gutted, guys,” Lunny acknowledged. “We would like to be there so badly. If it was a broken leg, I might do a Dave Grohl and play it. This isn’t something we’re taking evenly and we’re really sad. We hope and pray there’s some universe [where] we get to play next 12 months as a substitute … Since it is my neck and brain, our hands are tied for now, but I’m lucky and expect a speedy recovery.”

She added, “Thanks for all the time showing up for us.”

Lambrini Girls were scheduled to perform at Coachella 2026 on Saturday, April 11, and Saturday, April 18, as support for a bill headlined by Justin Bieber. Pass-holders can still expect loads of starpower on the lineup, as Addison Rae, SOMBR, Jack White, Labrinth, David Byrne and The Strokes are among the many dozens of acts on tap for each Saturdays.

Us exclusively learned this week that Bieber, 32, has been involved in nearly every aspect of planning his Coachella performance.

“He’s been involved in all the things all along, from negotiating his own paycheck to working on the show’s creative direction,” a source exclusively told Us. “He even helped design the merch that’ll be sold on the grounds — T-shirts, hoodies, hats, etc.”

Fans can expect a set showcasing his Swag albums, plus loads of classic hits to maintain the masses of festival-goers singing along.

“Justin could be very happy with his Swag albums [released in 2025], so he desires to highlight them, but he’s also packing his set with old hits that he hasn’t performed in years. He knows the group will need to hear those too,” the insider told Us. “He’s been fine-tuning and changing some things as recently as this week. It’s all very fluid, but the majority of the show is finalized and has been run through.”

The 2026 Coachella festival kicks off on Friday, April 10, with Sabrina Carpenter headlining and extra sets from Teddy Swims, The XX, Sexyy Red, Katseye and alternative rock icons Devo. The identical group will perform on Friday, April 17.

Coachella will close out each weekends – on Sundays, April 12 and Sunday, April 19 — with headliner Karol G, Young Thug, Major Lazer, FKA Twigs, Iggy Pop and Suicidal Tendencies, amongst others.
