GUNTHER has made a reputation for himself for retiring skilled wrestling veterans, and will one other WWE Hall of Famer be next on his hit list?
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rob Van Dam revealed that he’d love the prospect to face GUNTHER and believes it’d open the doors for more for him in WWE. He said,
“I believe that may be an incredible opportunity if I had the invite, you understand? Appears like a fairly rattling great payday, and naturally, after the match, WWE could be like, ‘Rattling! RVD looks so f****** good. Got to provide you with more plans for him now.’
“After which they might wish to throw every kind of cash my way. And yeah, I believe that Gunther would bring a stiffness out of me, just with what I’ve seen together with his chops and stuff like that. Perhaps in a way that Bob Holly did.”
In lower than a yr, GUNTHER has beaten Goldberg and John Cena of their final matches and compelled AJ Styles into retirement in January 2026.
GUNTHER’s next match will come at WWE WrestleMania 42 where he’ll tackle Seth Rollins, seemingly as a favor for Paul Heyman.
In a recent RAW segment, GUNTHER made it clear that he’ll want something in return from Heyman, with some fans predicting a match with Brock Lesnar.
