Cardi B’s estranged husband, Offset, is recovering after being shot outside a casino in Florida.
A spokesperson for the previous Migos rapper (real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus) confirmed to Complex on April 6 that Offset was the victim of a shooting near the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
The Seminole, Florida police department later told Page Six that two people have been detained in reference to the violent incident. Law enforcement also indicated that no life-threatening injuries occurred.
Offset’s hospitalization in Florida comes greater than three years after his former Migos bandmate Takeoff was killed at age 28 in a fatal shooting in Houston, Texas. Takeoff (real name Kirsnick Khari Ball) was reportedly an innocent bystander struck within the crossfire during an argument at a high-stakes dice game.
Offset spoke out for the primary time because the shooting on April 10, telling Us Weekly in a press release that he’s “good … but I’m planning to be higher.”

Offset’s Condition After Shooting
A spokesperson for Offset told Complex that the rapper was hospitalized in stable condition following the shooting in Hollywood, Florida.
“We will confirm Offset was shot and is currently on the hospital receiving medical care,” the rapper’s rep said on April 6, 2026. “He’s stable and being closely monitored.”
On April 10, Offset’s spokesperson confirmed to Us Weekly that he was out of the hospital.
“Offset has been released from the hospital, and he’s up and walking,” his rep told Us. “We’re incredibly grateful to the doctors, nurses and the complete hospital staff who took such great care of him.”

Offset broke his silence in a press release to Us Weekly on April 10, assuring fans that he’s on the road to recovery.
“Thanks to everyone who’s checked in on me and showed me love! I’m good … but I’m planning to be higher,” he said. “I’m focused on my family, my recovery and getting back to the music … realizing that life is made up of quiet wins and loud losses … Life’s a raffle, and I’m still playing to win.”

A Seminole County, Florida, police spokesperson told Page Six on April 6, that two people have been detained and that no life-threatening injuries occurred.
“We’re aware of an incident that occurred at a valet area after 7 p.m. Monday outside of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood that resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to a person who was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood,” a police spokesperson told Page Six.
The police statement continued, “Seminole Police were on site immediately and the situation was contained quickly. Two individuals have been detained by police. The investigation is ongoing. The location is secure and there is no such thing as a threat to the general public. Operations proceed as normal.”

Was Rapper Lil Tjay Injured or Involved in Offset’s Shooting?

TMZ reported that Lil Tjay was arrested in Florida and booked into the Broward County Jail for misdemeanor disorderly conduct-affray. He was held on a $500 bond and posed for a mugshot.
The Seminole Police Department told the publication that the rapper was involved in a fight before Offset got shot. (Us Weekly has reached out to Lil Tjay’s lawyer for further comment.)
Lil Tjay’s attorney, Dawn M. Florio, denied he was involved within the incident in an Instagram statement despite speculation otherwise.
“We’re issuing this release with reference to false rumors that Lil Tjay was involved in a shooting which occurred on the Valet Area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood which [resulted] in non-life-threatening injuries to Offset, formerly a member of Migos,” the statement read. “Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting. Any reporting on the contrary is fake. We encourage people to seek the advice of trusted news sources, and to confirm the accuracy of any reporting, before reflexively sharing or repeating baseless rumors.”

TMZ reported that Offset was hanging out with fans on the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino moments before the shooting occurred. He was described as acting “relaxed and friendly,” with no obvious signs of trouble.
