The very first thing that Paulo Costa did after scoring an enormous knockout win at UFC 327 was to get in front of Donald Trump. He shook hands with the President, with the pair sharing a comparatively lengthy conversation.
Recent footage has revealed that Costa thanked the President for the vague act of ‘what he’s doing’. And things got weird when Trump replied that “You’re a lovely guy and a fantastic fighter.” Costa continued to talk to the President, but with English as his second language he was hard to grasp.
Clearly the President heard Costa use the word model, and jokingly told him: “You might be a model you look so good. You’re too good trying to be a fighter, you’re some fighter. Thanks, man.”
After the event, Costa was asked in regards to the meeting and giggled, telling media “It was so funny, thanks Mr Trump.”
“I just type of jokingly talked to him,” he added. “Then I just said some things that were personal, so let’s just keep it a secret for now. It was just between us.”
