Kobbie Mainoo misses Manchester United’s Premier League clash with Leeds United tonight on account of a minor injury.
The 20-year-old has been ever-present within the United starting XI again under Michael Carrick having been frozen out of the team for the first-half of the campaign under Ruben Amorim.
However the midfielder’s run of games for his club involves an end tonight, neglected of the squad with Manuel Ugarte taking his place in midfield alongside Casemiro.
Mainoo’s absence is on account of a minor injury with Michael Carrick explaining ahead of kick-off: ‘The last day or so in training he just picked up a small issue, so we’re hoping and it seems not too bad it just wasn’t price pushing it tonight with the games coming up.
‘Manu got here on against Bournemouth and did rather well at the top of the sport and played for Uruguay so he’s in fine condition. We made that call and took Kobbie out of it.’
The midfielder played for England through the international break and was a part of the United squad that travelled over to Kildare, Ireland for a training camp last week.
He has began all 10 games since Carrick took the reins in January, playing the complete 90 minutes on each of those occasions aside from the defeat to Newcastle United.
