Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Announced, Coming in 2027

Rumors about Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 have been circulating for months, especially after some accidental leaks, and Bandai Namco has finally made it official. The publisher revealed Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 with an announcement trailer, confirming the sport is heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam in 2027. As someone who enjoyed Xenoverse 2 back within the day, it’s pretty exciting to see the series finally return after nearly a decade.

The trailer shows off a transparent visual upgrade over Xenoverse 2, with cleaner cel-shading and what looks like more fluid combat animations. Bulma makes an appearance with English voice acting, and there are several stand-in shots that appear to tease the return of the custom character creation the series is understood for. For those unfamiliar with it, the Xenoverse series lets players create their very own fighter and drop them into key moments of Dragon Ball history as a Time Patroller, with the job of fixing the timeline when villains attempt to rewrite it.

Xenoverse 2 originally launched back in 2016 and has by some means managed to remain relevant for nearly 10 years through consistent DLC support and a gentle player base. The gap between entries goes to find yourself being pretty massive, which puts a variety of pressure on Xenoverse 3 to deliver on what fans have been waiting for. Bandai Namco hasn’t shared a particular release window inside 2027 yet, but expect more details to roll out between now and launch.
