Casemiro believes Kobbie Mainoo can remain top-of-the-line midfielders on this planet for the subsequent 12 years for Manchester United.
Mainoo has once more established himself as a key figure in United’s midfield following Michael Carrick’s arrival in January, delivering impressive performances in wins against Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea.
Casemiro, meanwhile, is ready to depart United at the top of the season however the 34-year-old is facing calls to increase his stay at Old Trafford as a result of the flourishing midfield partnership he has with Mainoo.
But while Casemiro insists he is not going to change his mind over his decision to depart Old Trafford this summer, the Brazil international believes United will still have ‘top-of-the-line No.8s’ in Mainoo.
‘Kobbie is the current and the longer term,’ Casemiro said in a Q&A with United.

‘I believe that he’s top-of-the-line No.8s and could be for that for the subsequent 12 years.
‘He’s a player I actually like. He at all times wants the ball. It’s true that football can’t change your mentality but Kobbie demonstrated that he hasn’t modified his focus once.
‘He has to proceed focusing like he’s now and proceed playing the necessary role he’s now. But what a player he’s, he’s an incredible player.
‘He has demonstrated this, within the Euros final with England, he has demonstrated it in finals, he scored within the FA Cup [in the 2024 final win against Manchester City].
‘Kobbie is the current and the longer term.’
