Latest details are shedding light on who’s actually behind WWE’s latest round of roster cuts.
On Friday, 23 talents were let go. A number of the names included The Wyatt Sicks, Aleister Black, Kairi Sane, Zelina Vega, and others. There was speculation that TKO Group Holdings is behind the firings, as they’re those who made the calls to the talent. Some fans pointed to executives like Ari Emanuel or WWE President Nick Khan as the important thing figures behind the cuts.
In keeping with a report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, that assumption isn’t accurate. He said,
“No one above Levesque is saying who to chop. Possibly [WWE President] Nick Khan, possibly not. Ari Emanuel isn’t sitting there saying we’ve to fireplace Zelina [Vega] and Kairi. By and enormous the choice maker, for good or for bad, here is Paul. It’s like in other years where people blamed this person or that person when the choice was 100% Vince [McMahon].”
He continued, “There’s not a probability TKO is ordering who to chop. It is feasible they’ve got an unofficial salary cap and Levesque because the manager has to maintain the number below that. Almost definitely the salary total could be a Khan decision, and so far as the important thing within the personnel decision, that’s Levesque although Khan having input and others having input is probably going. It’s like Vince would seek the advice of with a number of people but at the top, it was Vince’s call, not evil Jim Ross or evil Johnny Ace or evil JJ Dillon.”
